The Botanical Gardens at Bonn University are truly inspiring and even those with only a small interest in horticulture or simply flowers will find plenty here to keep them occupied for much of the day. In total, the gardens are home to in excess of 3,000 different plants species, covering around 17 acres / 7 hectares. The Botanical Gardens are known to date back around 400 years, and today, many of the most precious exotic plants are housed within a group of climate-controlled glasshouses, including palms, tropical water lilies, succulents, ferns and innumerable colourful flowers. Guided tours of the gardens are available for just a small charge.
